4.0 Schools & Brighter Fun: COVID-19

We felt honored this past month to be one of several recipients of a 4.0 Schools mini-grant to address the effects of COVID-19.

4.0 Schools is a nonprofit supporting equity in education. Based out of New Orleans, they run several fellowships for early-stage education entrepreneurs. Brad was actually a 4.0 Schools Tiny Fellow while working with his co-founder on launching Future Public School (nice photo!):

This mini grant from 4.0 Schools allowed Brighter Fun to give away 120 copies of Animal Chat to families negatively impacted by the outbreak of COVID-19. We gave the majority of games to families of local schools, and were also able to ship other games out across the country to other families.

During these times it can be easy to push our feelings to the side or focus on how COVID-19 has impacted adults (health consequences, job loss, displacement). We know that children are feeling just as many emotions during these times. It can be fun and healing to play a game like Animal Chat together to bring those feelings out and spend some time just having fun.

We hope you are yours are able to share your feelings during these times.
